Newstead is right on the waterfront across the harbor from Hamilton. It is an old Bermuda mansion with modernized guest rooms and cottages set in landscaped gardens in a quiet residential area. There’s a private dock, deep-water swimming in the harbor, a large swimming pool with sun deck and bar, a large lounge with a fireplace and television, and a library. Guest rooms are spacious, comfortable and air-conditioned, all have views of the gardens or harbor, but no TV. Complimentary afternoon tea is served in the lounge overlooking the harbor. Sailboats and Boston Whalers can be rented at the deep-water dock during the summer. There are two clay tennis courts, a putting green, and a game room. Golf and all watersports can be arranged. Hamilton is only a few minutes away by ferry from the dock on the hotel property. The nearest bus stop is a short walk of about five minutes.
